The employees at WCL Lunz were happy about a free health check directly at their workplace in Lunz on 30.11.22. In the truck of the Chamber of Labor of Lower Austria AKNÖ at the WasserCluster, a spine measurement was made during a 15-minute check and blood values were immediately evaluated and tested for personal risk factors for civilization and cardiovascular diseases. We are thankfull for the offer
On 29.11.2022 we presented the WasserCluster Lunz at the career day in the HLUW Yspertal. Since our research institute is to be chosen as a desired internship place, the personal acquaintance of interested students was very useful for the selection of future interns. Every year we have interns (compulsory and voluntary) from schools in the area who assist with laboratory and field work at the WCL on a monthly basis. Apply now for internships in 2023:

The Austrian Climate and Energy Fund is funding the project of the BIGER working group for 3 years at the WCL called DIRT. It aims at assessing the importance of mobilization of nutrients in water bodies compared to external inputs. Based on laboratory experiments, the remobilization potential of nutrients along river systems will be examined. The experiments can be used to determine which sediments have a particularly high mobilization potential during warmer periods.
